A data consultancy’s brand transformation

Agile (formerly Agile Solutions) is a data consultancy based in Milton Keynes, transforming enterprise businesses and major public sector organisations by unlocking data’s power.

Their offering is cutting-edge, and their approach is uniquely innovative, but their brand did not reflect that. It was dated, unrepresentative of their identity, and creatively limiting for their marketing collateral.

The brand’s progress


For two years, Agile had worked with Nutcracker for their content marketing. During this time, we made ongoing dramatic improvements to the aesthetics and character of their content, refining the tone of voice and visual identity, within the parameters of the legacy brand elements.

However, Agile’s colour palette and logo were still hampering their progress and undermining their market position. Their brand narrative was also not strong enough to inspire internal buy-in or support their external positioning.

Less innovative competitors were claiming market share that Agile could and should own, so Agile asked us to deliver a wholesale overhaul of their branding to reflect the character of the content we were producing.

Our approach

We created a new visual identity, assets, brand guidelines, and a tone of voice document to define and protect a brand that represents the business faithfully.

Since its inception, the business has built its service on three pillars of data management — Modernise, Manage, and Monetise — and those pillars formed the core of the new brand.

The three-part identity informed a fresh, vibrant, new logo which was representative of each element, and we built out a comprehensive brand guidelines document which:

  • tells the brand story
  • governs the use of the logo
  • expresses the business’s ethos
  • guides the application of the colour palette
  • defines the meaning and the expression of the brand values

We also distilled the brand’s mission into a concise, and impactful new tagline — ‘Unlocking data’s power’.

With those elements in place, we also rewrote and redesigned the business’s creds deck, for the sales teams to use in meetings with prospects. The existing deck needed urgent replacement, and it existed in several versions as individual team members had tweaked and added elements to suit their presentation. The slides were messy and outdated, and we introduced a clean, professional update that reflected the new brand.

To introduce the rebranded Agile to the market, we created a launch video for social media, and once the website was reskinned and social profiles updated to reflect the new brand, we published the video to announce the new Agile.

What changed?

Agile now has a brand that the whole team has bought into, that reflects the professionalism and credibility of the business, and that helps them stand out in a competitive market.
